Tuesday Tribute-Jakerboy

OUR DOG JAKE 2000-2009

Dear Jaker-Boy,
My FIRST Tuesday Tribute is dedicated to you, Jaker-boy.
You were a GOOD dog! My best friend, right through it all, as our song goes.
We have loved you since Craig and Erin choose you for Kesley in the year 2000.
We miss your easy-going and fun-loving personality.
Camping trips, hunting trips, and time at the HUMBLE Ranch will never be the same.
You were KIND, SWEET and LOYAL.
You let the grand kids pull your hair, lie on top of you, and tease you without irritation or recourse.
Not to mention, happily sleeping next to the cats daily (Don't worry, we won't tell anyone)
We always felt a little safer knowing you were the first to notify of any new visitors or trespassers.
Remember when we were at the "City of Rocks" on a rock climbing vacation and you would FETCH the ball as we threw it into the rocks for hours?
(You may also remember you lost a tooth on that trip)
Remember when you were a puppy and would jump on the tramp?
Remember all those hot dogs the kids feed you. YUMMM.
Of course you remember the time you were hit by a car and Grandma Toni nursed you back to health.
Baylee's first response to your passing was "Oh no...now we don't have any dogs in our family."
Brielle said, "Don't be sad mommy, Jaker is happy in Heaven."
It won't surprise you that we all have shed tears, but Kesley cannot sleep at the thought of your loss.
We will lay you down in that special spot in the west pasture next to our beloved horse, NUD.
Thank you for your unconditional love for the HUMBLE FAMILY.
We love and miss you.
(By the way Jake, if there are blogs in Heaven, we added a the song"Feed Jake" to our play list)

Humble Love Always

Halloween Run Down

Halloween 09 was filled with the smell of a pumpkin spice Salt City Candle. A haunted school parade and warm ward party were enjoyed. Frighting books were read from our "Book of the Month table" in the play room. The carving of Baylee's SCARY pumpkin, Brielle's HAPPY pumpkin, and my ghost of a pumpkin bewitched our fingers followed by HOT CHOCOLATE and marsh mellows and a toast of our traditional holiday sparkling cider. Then it was time to go trick-or-treating with my Vampire, Angel, and Little Monkey (and handsome Prince Craig) The holiday was perfectly concluded with friends at Grandma and Grandpa Bodell's with HOMEMADE ROOT BEER and bags full of CANDY! Happy Halloween Everyone!

Thought of the Day

Today I was impressed by this quote by President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910–2008): “Never forget that these little ones are the sons and daughters of God and that yours is a custodial relationship to them, that He was a parent before you were parents and that He has not relinquished His parental rights or interest in these His little ones. … Rear your children in love, in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Take care of your little ones. Welcome them into your homes, and nurture and love them with all of your hearts. They may do, in the years that come, some things you would not want them to do, but be patient, be patient. You have not failed as long as you have tried”

It inspires me to do better and offer even more love, concern, and patience for my three little munchkins.

Top 10 weekend

Dear Daddy,
We sure missed you while you were looking for deer/elk but take a look at the top 10 highlights of the weekend.
11. There is a number 11 because this was not a fun part of the weekend.  Mommy dragged us out of bed at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday morning to get H1N1 shots.  When we got there at 6:15, thousands of people were already in line and there were only 2000 shots.  So mom toook us to McDonalds for our frist Micky D's breakfast at 7 a.m. Awesome!

10.  Decorated sugar cookies and baked whole wheat bread. (Mommy says its good for us-who knows?)

9. Made mommy crack up by saying, "Look, this belt is the ring...the loop is the diamond...and I'm the finger."

8.  Our best pal, Alyda, finally  returned from her Grandmas house to play-we couldn't be happier.

7. Her Grandma Garner took us to Thanksgiving Point to the Barn and Burger King. (Thanks Dianne)
6.  We went to a farwell party for Max and Thore at Cali's house, where we made pumpkins, played in the leaves and ate cake. (Thanks Kristin)

5.  Made carmel apples with mom, YUM!

4.  Chased Mr. Bowen and Mommy-They were SCARED!

3.  Played hours with Play Doh (Yes-Baylee is wearing a burger king crown)

2. Went to church were Bree's class did sharing time on family's and mommy is Baylee's new teacher.  We sang "Our father has a family...its you...is me---"
1.  Played  doctor and gave Mr. Bowen his first swin flue shot.

Come home soon so we can wrestle!

A Hunten' He Will Go

It's that time of year again...when men folk everywhere gather in search of that six point animal that is ever eluding them. HUNTING SEASON. Time to be REAL MEN, free to be gross and dirty and unjudged by their wives.
In the past, I must admit I felt left alone to hold down the fort and children...but I've turned over a new leaf! Have fun exausting yourselves in the Idaho cold boys. As for me and the kids, we will be cozy and warm making play doh, baking homemade bread, and decorating sugar cookies. Now that’s my kind of weekend!
